Deburr Technician

Department: Manufacturing

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Redondo Beach

Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 / hour


Description
As a Deburr Technician at Impulse, you will be responsible for manufacturing machined and printed components and structures for spacecraft.

Responsibilities
  • Remove sharp edges, burrs, and imperfections from machined parts
  • File, grind, and sand surfaces and corners of metallic parts with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Inspect surfaces to find and rework defects
  • Chase threads, and tap/re-tap holes
  • Achieve polish finish on seal interfaces
  • Perform cleaning operations on metallic structures using solvents
  • Review work instructions and specifications, and complete work buyoffs electronically as the work is being performed
  • Hand drilling, match drilling, step drilling, tapping, countersinking, and chamfering using pneumatic drills and hand tools
  • Interface with engineering to identify work instructions and recommend engineering improvements
  • Use basic shop tools such as saws, mills, drill presses, hand routers, de-burr tools, rotary tools, and sanders


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate\
  • 1+ year of hands-on hardware manufacturing experience in a production environment


Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience with drilling, reaming, countersinking tight-tolerance holes using electric or pneumatic tools, specifically on in-space hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints. Understands drawing symbols, flag notes, and section views
  • Understands GD&T, and understands which features can be reworked to meet GD&T requirements
Additional Information:
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, and in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift as much as 25 pounds
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as gripping, grasping, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, etc. to perform the functions of the job
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
