Position Summary

The Deburr Technician removes excess metal and surface defects from machined parts. Shapes / forms features on component parts according to product documentation by polishing, grinding, cleaning, and other manual and power assisted processes. Performs activities associated with the receipt, organization, staging, and movement of materials.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deburr, shape, form, and finish parts according to documented work instructions and specifications or as otherwise directed.
  • Polish, clean, break edges on precision machined parts made of a variety of materials to specified requirements and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and instructions.
  • Self-inspect conformance to specifications utilizing appropriate inspection tools.
  • Ensure proper completion of all parts paperwork and documentation.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to problem solve product and processing issues, actively engaging in the corrective action process.
  • Organize, stage, and move materials as required using overhead cranes and / or other material handling equipment.
  • Evaluate and requisition purchased tooling and supplies.
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance duties.
  • Maintain safe and orderly work cell as well as facility material staging areas.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.

Education and Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fork truck certification or ability to acquire the certification.
Experience
  • Two years of deburr / general machining experience within a machine shop or manufacturing environment, utilizing product documentation, schematics, and verbal / written instruction.
Other
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required
  • Travel on rare occasions.
Desired Job Qualification
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is desired.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00. This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and / or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
