Job summary

Southern Specialties in Tulsa, OK is seeking a dependable Deburr Operator to join our sheet metal fabrication team. The role removes burrs, sharp edges, slag, and imperfections from laser-cut and fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality standards.

You will operate grinders, belt sanders, tumblers, and other finishing equipment, inspect parts for defects, follow drawings, and help maintain a clean, safe, productive shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or metal finishing.
• Experience operating grinders, tumblers, sanding equipment.
• Familiarity with laser-cut parts and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Deburr, grind, sand, and finish parts from laser cutting and welding operations.
• Operate equipment and tools such as hand grinders, belt sanders, deburring machines, and vibratory tumblers.
• Inspect parts for burrs, sharp edges, slag, scratches, and other defects.
• Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and quality requirements.
• Meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards.
• Safely handle and move sheet metal parts of various sizes and weights.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other fabrication and production tasks as needed.

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Deburr Operator to join our growing sheet metal fabrication team. This position is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, slag, and imperfections from laser-cut and fabricated metal parts to ensure products meet customer quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating deburring and finishing equipment such as grinders, sanding machines, tumblers, and other metal finishing tools. Prior experience in sheet metal fabrication is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Deburr, grind, sand, and finish metal parts produced from laser cutting, forming, and welding operations.
• Operate equipment and tools such as:
  • Hand grinders
  • Belt sanders
  • Deburring machines
  • Rock/vibratory tumblers
  • Other metal finishing equipment
• Inspect parts for burrs, sharp edges, slag, scratches, and other defects.
• Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and quality requirements.
• Meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards.
• Safely handle and move sheet metal parts of various sizes and weights.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other fabrication and production tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing, or metal finishing environment.
• Experience operating grinders, tumblers, sanding equipment, or other deburring tools.
• Familiarity with laser-cut metal parts and fabrication processes.
