Job summary

PLI Manufacturing, a unit of Phoenix Defense, is seeking a Deburr Hand Finisher to support aerospace fabrication. You will grind and smooth metal surfaces using portable hand tools and follow written and verbal instructions to meet production schedules.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, aerospace deburr experience preferred, and strong attention to detail. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in deburr or aerospace preferred.
• Ability to interpret aerospace blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Grind and smooth surfaces using portable hand tools.
• Select abrasive belts, wheels or disks per specifications and attach to grinder.
• Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts.
• Frequent handling of moderate to heavy components; stand/walk most of the time.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to meet production schedules.
• Maintain integrity across departments and adhere to handbook policies.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Deburr Hand Finisher, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

• Grind and smooth surfaces of items, requiring the ability to operate common portable hand tools.


• Select grade of abrasive belt, wheel or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and condition of metal, and attach to grinder.


• Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts.


• Frequent handling of moderate to heavy components; may include walking or standing most of the time.


• Follow demonstrated steps or written instructions.


• Work to meet customer and internal production schedules.


• Maintain high level of integrity dealing with all departments within the organization.


• Adhere to company policies and procedures described in Employment Handbook.


• Other duties as assigned by management.

ABOUT YOU:

• High School Diploma or GED.


• Previous deburr or aerospace experience is preferred.


• The ability to interpret aerospace blueprints is a must.


• Excellent attendance and punctuality.


• Ability to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in English.


• Ability to comprehend and apply detailed written & verbal instructions.


• Team player who can perform in a fast-paced environment with sense of urgency.


• Quality oriented with a hands‑on personality, "do it right the first time" personality.


• Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow‑up skills.
