Job summary

Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) in Houston seeks a Debug Technician to troubleshoot and repair failures, diagnose root causes, and propose corrective actions in an office/production environment.

Reporting to the Failure Analysis Engineering Manager, you will conduct tests on electronic products and collaborate with design, hardware, and test teams to ensure production quality.

Qualifications

• Ability to read test logs.
• Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX.
• Ability to work with switches, network equipment, etc.
• Electronic assembly: Schematics, PCB point to point wiring; Cables: connector/wire soldering; oscilloscope, cable & harness testing, trouble shooting, component testing, logic analyzer; Inspection: PCB loaded, components, cable/harness, microscope.

Responsibilities

• Tests the server/computer tray to meet specified requirements.
• Troubleshoots, debugs, and determines root cause at multiple system levels for customer devices and analyzes circuits and topologies to identify marginal failure root causes.
• Repairs for failing devices.
• Troubleshoot and repair failures; diagnose the root cause and recommend corrective action.
• Monitor ORT (on-going reliability tests) /RDT (reliability demonstration tests) and report issues to Test Engineers.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work directly with design and manufacturing teams to investigate hardware issues down to the component level.
• Document procedure, follow SOPs.
• Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs.
• Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple internal engineering disciplines (HW, SW, Diags, Quality, Product, Mechanical, Materials, Reliability) to resolve complex hardware issues.
• Assist Test Engineers with test station setup and other processes including modeling, pre-pilot, and pilot runs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
