Job summary

Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) seeks a Debug Technician to troubleshoot and repair failures, diagnose root causes, and recommend corrective actions in an office/production environment.

Reporting to the Failure Analysis Engineering Manager, you will test, analyze circuits, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, document procedures, and assist with developing new equipment and test programs to support production quality.

Qualifications

• Able to read test logs.
• Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX.
• Experience with hardware such as CPUs, NICs, memory.
• Ability to adapt to stressful situations and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Job description

Overview:

Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) is seeking a Debug Technician to troubleshoot and repair failures; diagnose the root cause and recommend corrective action. Once a part of the team, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks within the DEPT in an [office/production] environment and have the opportunity to display critical thinking skills to expand your career in Smart Manufacturing.

Reporting to the Failure Analysis Engineering Manager, the Debug Technician’s role conducts, tests, and troubleshoots electronic product, components, and systems to ensure production quality standards are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tests the server/computer tray to meet specified requirements.


• Troubleshoots, debugs, and determines root cause at multiple system levels for customer devices and analyzes circuits and topologies to identify marginal failure root causes.


• Repairs for failing devices.


• Troubleshoot and repair failures; diagnose the root cause and recommend corrective action.


• Monitor ORT (on-going reliability tests) /RDT (reliability demonstration tests) and report issues to Test Engineers.


• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work directly with design and manufacturing teams to investigate hardware issues down to the component level.


• Document procedure, follow SOPs.


• Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs.


• Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple internal engineering disciplines (HW, SW, Diags, Quality, Product, Mechanical, Materials, Reliability) to resolve complex hardware issues.


• Assist Test Engineers with test station setup and other processes including modeling, pre-pilot, and pilot runs.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read test logs.


• Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX


• Ability to work with switches, network equipment, etc.


• Some experience with computer hardware like CPUs, NIC, Memory, etc.


• Must be able to adapt to stressful situations and complete projects under tight deadlines.


• Electronic Assembly: Schematics, PCB point to point wiring; Cables: connector/ wire soldering; oscilloscope, cable & harness testing, trouble shooting, component testing, logic analyzer; Inspection: PCB loaded, components, cable/harness, microscope.
