Description

The Gazebo, a coastal bliss, is the much-anticipated destination for our members to enjoy the essence of summer serenity. Nestled along the oceanfront pool and beach, this outdoor sanctuary invites patrons to enjoy an assortment of summer libations, including refreshing cocktails and culinary delights. Whether it's lounging with friends or savoring solitude by the sea, the Gazebo serves as an idyllic setting to dine out while soaking in the tranquil seaside atmosphere.

The Server at the Gazebo is an essential part of the food and beverage (F&B) team who serves as the face of customer service to our members and guests during the beach/pool season. This is a professional role who works collaboratively with the F&B team to create a positive, fun, and casual dining experience for our members and guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides food and beverage service to club members and guests.
  • Vibrantly greets and acknowledges every member and guest in a friendly and timely manner that is warm and welcoming.
  • Accurately takes and processes orders from members using a POS system.
  • Communicates all orders per DeBordieu procedure to ensure kitchen staff are aware of special accommodations (e.g., food allergy) when needed.
  • Answers questions about the menu and offers suggestions and/or substitutions.
  • Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offers suggestions on daily specials and wine selections.
  • Able to describe the selection of food and beverage menu items to guests.
  • Attends pre-meal meetings as requested.
  • Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
  • Completes opening and closing duties and side work.
  • Maintains safe work habits and work environment.
  • Attends pre-shift and designated staff meetings as well as training sessions.
  • Performs any other reasonable duties as required by management.
  • Maintains high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing proper and complete uniform and name tag.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School/GED
  • Minimum of one year work experience serving/bartending in a restaurant or food establishment.
  • The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
  • Food safety certification is a plus.
  • Country Club or Golf Club experience is a plus but not required.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • CPR/AED and/or First Aid Certification a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods and walks, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, stretches and twists or reaches.
  • Carries and balances a tray to get food to the designated table.
  • Pushes, pulls or lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Works in a hot, humid and noisy environment.
