With its outdoor screened-in porch, spacious seating, cozy couch area and fireplace, modern high-top tables and luminous bars, this space transcends mere elegance, offering warmth amidst the coastal allure. Two of our newest dining spaces at the Beach Club are Lafayette and Lulu’s, both named after historical figures and aspects of DeBordieu’s rich heritage. Lafayette embodies elegance and sophistication, ideal for cherished gatherings and special occasions. Lulu's, on the other hand, offers a relaxed and casual atmosphere, perfect for laid-back meals and unwinding with friends and family. Both spaces feature open kitchens, allowing our talented chefs to showcase their culinary expertise while engaging with the members and guests alike.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

  • Follows and understands all club guidelines pertaining to table setting, order taking, and sequence of service.
  • Understands hygiene, sanitation, and food safety rules.
  • Works in an environment that is fast-paced and high in demand.
  • Comfortable with communicating and accommodating requests in an engaging and positive manner with members and their guests to establish satisfaction.
  • Able to multitask and possesses a high degree of organizational skills needed for members to get their food orders promptly and accurately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies correct ticket order and food presentation per recipe guideline.
  • Delivers food to correct tables according to ticket and floor seating plan.
  • Prepares and re-stock Expo-line garnishments and sauces as needed.
  • Completes opening and closing duties and side work.
  • Maintains safe work habits and work environment.
  • Attends pre-shift and designated staff meetings as well as training sessions.
  • Performs any other reasonable duties as required by management.
  • Maintains high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing proper and complete uniform and name tag.
  • Maintains regular attendance as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the restaurant.

Occasionally may be asked to assist the team with the following:

  • Sets and cleans dining room tables before, during and after meal service; assist food servers with miscellaneous tasks (e.g., clear tables of soiled utensils and plates).
  • Interacts with guests, re-fills drinks, answers menu questions, and informs servers of any requests.
  • Polishes silverware and glassware before and after each shift.
  • Keeps tables, dining rooms, and bus station areas clean at all times; removes soiled dishes in a timely manner.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods and walks, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, stretches and twists or reaches.
  • Carries and balances a tray to get food to the designated table.
  • Pushes, pulls or lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Works in a hot, humid and noisy environment.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year work experience in a restaurant or food establishment.
  • Country Club or Golf Club experience is a plus but not required.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • CPR/AED and/or First Aid Certification a plus.

PT/FT Hourly, nonexempt

Starting at $14/hour
