Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. is seeking a Debarker Operator to safely and efficiently prep logs for the next production stages. You will monitor equipment, stay focused, and uphold quality standards to ensure high-quality lumber delivery.

You will debark logs, sort by size, species and grade, and collaborate with teammates to maintain a steady log supply. The role requires 18+ and flexibility for overtime, with safety duties including reporting incidents and following LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Available to work Monday – Friday with occasional weekends and overtime.
• Reporting of all safety incidents, including near misses.
• Flexibility with work hours and shifts (ability to work overtime and weekends as needed).

Responsibilities

• Properly process the debarking of logs
• Sort product by size, species, and grade
• Collaborate with co-workers to ensure the mill maintains a log supply
• Complete LOTO as needed
• Know log species to ensure appropriate species are entering the mill
• Maintain Debarker while keeping work area clean such as grease equipment, clean bull rolls, fill outfeed log deck and any build-up of bark away from belts and pulleys

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the debarker equipment to remove bark from logs and prepare them for the next stages of production. Your ability to stay focused, monitor equipment, and maintain quality standards will help ensure we continue to produce and deliver high-quality lumber to our customers.
