All interested applicants, including those fully qualified with a commercial driver's license, start as a Driver in Training. We invest heavily in training and development to ensure our drivers are the best in the industry.

A Driver in Training will be trained to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and related endorsements, learn company policies, and complete necessary requirements. Upon successful training, the driver will be promoted to a Professional Driver role.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing safe, reliable transportation by operating school buses or other vehicles on fixed or changing routes.
• Exhibiting high ethical standards and integrity; reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
• Reporting on time and maintaining punctual routes safely.
• Assisting passengers in emergencies.
• Reporting accidents or incidents immediately.
• Adhering to student and passenger management policies.
• Communicating effectively with staff and passengers.
• Maintaining a professional appearance.
• Completing all required paperwork promptly.
• Promoting cooperation and goodwill among colleagues and passengers.
• Using vehicle equipment safely, including wheelchair lifts and emergency tools.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities may apply for Paratransit Drivers depending on location.

Requirements include:

• Being at least 21 years old (25 for Tennessee drivers).
• Possessing or able to obtain valid state licenses and certifications.
• Meeting physical and medical requirements and passing substance abuse screening.
• Satisfactorily completing all training.
• Practicing defensive driving at all times.
• Complying with all applicable driver requirements.
