Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Dean of Students to foster a positive school climate while overseeing student discipline, attendance, and behavior management programs. The role reports to the Principal and collaborates with administrators, teachers, families, and community stakeholders to ensure a safe learning environment.

The Dean of Students will lead site programs, monitor student progress, and support MTSS and inclusive practices, advancing equity and academic achievement for all

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in administration, education, educational leadership, or related field.
• Five (5) years of certified teaching experience, education administration, or K-12 leadership.
• School Administrators License required; proper endorsement needed before starting work.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees student behavior policies and restorative practices aligned with district policies.
• Monitors attendance and participates in data reports for progress and MTSS.
• Lead equity, social-emotional learning, and academic achievement initiatives for all students.
• Collaborates with parents, staff, and community to promote a safe, respectful school climate.
• Supervises staff performance and supports instructional leadership and classroom management.
