Job summary

The Federal Way Public Schools are seeking a Dean of Students to support the principal and promote a positive school climate. The role focuses on PBIS leadership, data‑driven improvement, and meeting students' social‑emotional needs across the campus.

The successful candidate will model high expectations, work with staff to re‑teach behavior, engage families, and help align practices with the district strategic plan. A WA teaching certificate with endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsement.
• Three years of successful teaching experience.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and families.
• Knowledge of PBIS and school-wide discipline practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the principal and assistant principal in leadership and climate.
• Promote a safe, rigorous, inclusive climate for scholars.
• Lead PBIS efforts and data-driven decision making.
• Coordinate 504 plans and participate in IEP meetings.
• Engage with parents and staff to strengthen school community.
• Assist in developing and implementing district-aligned improvement plans.
