Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a Dean of Student Supports to lead campus-wide behavior, attendance, and wellness initiatives, reporting to the Principal. The role partners with families, staff, and community resources to support equitable outcomes for all students.

You will design proactive supports, supervise BIT, and mentor staff to foster a safe, engaging learning environment that advances academic achievement and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education or related field.
  • Administrative certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience; campus leadership valued.
  • Experience with 504 Plans, Title IX, and McKinney-Vento services.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee proactive behavior support systems.
  • Lead BIT and analyze student data to guide interventions.
  • Provide direct support and mentoring for students needing targeted interventions.
  • Promote restorative practices and positive school culture.
  • Monitor attendance trends and student engagement.
  • Collaborate with academic teams to align supports with instructional goals.
  • Support tutoring, intervention, and enrichment programs.
  • Conduct staff coaching and professional development in SEL and behavior.
  • Coordinate family engagement and community partnerships to support students.
  • Oversee compliance with 504 Plans, Title IX, and McKinney-Vento services.
  • Participate in leadership teams and data review processes.

Reporting to the Principal, the Dean leads campus-wide systems of support addressing behavior, attendance, academic engagement, and wellness, while partnering closely with families, staff, and community resources.This role integrates discipline leadership, student support services, and professional development, ensuring equitable practices and proactive interventions that meet the diverse needs of students.Essential FunctionsStudent Behavior & Social-Emotional SupportsDesign, implement, and oversee comprehensive, proactive behavior support systemsLead the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) and analyze student data to guide interventionsProvide direct support and mentoring for students requiring targeted or intensive interventionsPromote restorative practices, conflict resolution, and positive school cultureConduct threat assessments and collaborate with internal and external agencies as neededAcademic & Attendance SupportMonitor and address attendance trends, chronic absenteeism, and student engagementCollaborate with academic teams to align behavior and social-emotional supports with instructional goalsSupport tutoring, intervention, and enrichment programs that remove barriers to learningStaff Development & CoachingConduct classroom observations focused on behavior, engagement, and instructional climateProvide coaching and professional development in classroom management, SEL, and behavior interventionSupport onboarding, mentoring, and development of new and struggling staffTrain non-instructional staff in behavior expectations and student supervisionFamily & Community EngagementServe as a primary liaison for families regarding student behavior, attendance, and supportsProvide parent education and outreach focused on student success and wellnessCoordinate community partnerships that enhance student and family support servicesCompliance & Student Services OversightOversee and ensure compliance with 504 Plans, Title IX requirements, and McKinney-Vento servicesMaintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to state and federal regulationsSupport equitable and legally compliant disciplinary processesLeadership & School OperationsEnforce school-wide behavior expectations in alignment with campus leadershipSupport campus supervision at events and student activitiesParticipate in leadership teams, PLCs, and data review processesPerform additional duties as assigned to support overall school operationsKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExpertise in student behavior systems, SEL frameworks, and restorative practicesStrong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skillsAbility to analyze data to inform decisions and interventionsExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilitiesDemonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practicesEducation & ExperienceMaster’s Degree in Education or related field (required or preferred, per district)Administrative certification preferredMinimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experienceExperience in student support services, behavior intervention, or campus leadershipWork EnvironmentFlexible schedule to meet student and campus needsOccasional travel between campuses and district meetingsPhysical requirements consistent with campus-based leadership rolesBackground CheckNV Fingerprint Background CheckEnjoy the benefits of being the best!Education is not a spectator sport, so we encourage you to work hard, learn, have fun, and always do your best.
