Job summary

KIPP NYC Public Schools in New York City is seeking an Instructional Dean (Humanities) for Middle School to lead curriculum development, ensure a rigorous, disciplined culture, and support teachers in improving student outcomes across humanities subjects.

The Dean will coordinate content with the Teaching & Learning team, mentor teachers, analyze performance data, drive professional development, and ensure strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of full-time classroom teaching experience.
• At least one year of adult management/teacher coaching.
• Experience in education leadership is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute high-quality, standards-based curricula aligned with the school's mission.
• Coordinate curriculum and instructional content with Teaching & Learning team and coach teachers.
• Assess teacher and student performance and coordinate PD needs.
• Provide operational support to keep the academic program running.
• Collaborate with the Principal and Leadership Team to foster positive school culture.
