Job summary

Summit Public Schools seeks a Dean of Expeditions to lead the Expeditions program at a California site, coordinating with network leadership and driving partnerships that expand student learning beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• A Teaching Credential in the relevant state is required, as is prior teaching experience.
• Commitment to uphold Summit’s values and prepare students for college and life.
• Community organizing or prior school leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Expeditions program for the site and manage ~10 faculty and staff.
• Coach and support Expeditions teachers, staff, and contractors.
• Cultivate external partnerships and build community relationships.
• Develop and manage systems for partnerships and scheduling.
• Oversee safety, field trips, and compliance for Expeditions experiences.
• Coordinate student schedules to match interests with Expeditions options.
• Promote a strong school culture aligned with Summit’s mission.
• Ensure attendance reporting and data-driven reflection across Expeditions rounds.
