Job summary

LSU New Orleans invites applications for the position of Dean, Robert Savoie College of Engineering. The Dean serves as chief executive officer of the College of Engineering, reporting to the Provost, and leads teaching, research, and service missions while managing resources and advancing strategic initiatives.

The Dean will foster collaboration across departments, engage in fundraising, and work with Enrollment Services to recruit students, aiming to elevate undergraduate and graduate programs

Qualifications

• PhD or earned doctorate in a relevant field.
• Proven track record in college-level teaching, scholarship, and service to merit tenure as Professor.
• Experience with budgeting and administration in an academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to students, faculty, and staff to sustain college-wide excellence in teaching and research.
• Foster collaboration among faculty and deans and support university growth.
• Articulate a vision for the College and implement it with Provost/Chancellor.
• Lead fundraising, recruit/retain faculty, and support entrepreneurship in research.
• Manage college resources to meet teaching, research, and service missions.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders including alumni, industry, and community.
