Job summary

Delgado Community College in New Orleans seeks a Dean for the School of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education to provide academic leadership across programs including English, History, Psychology, and many others. The Dean oversees curricular revisions, long-range planning, faculty development, budget management, scheduling across campuses, and alignment with the college's mission.

Ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred), at least five years of higher education

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an institution accredited by an authorized accrediting agency.
• Minimum five years experience in higher education; demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
• Doctorate Degree (preferred in Liberal Arts, Social Science, or Education).
• Substantial teaching experience in a community college; leadership at the Dean/Director level (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversees formulation of instructional objectives college-wide and guides curricular revisions.
• Develops and implements college-wide long-range programs, plans, goals, and policies.
• Coordinates teaching schedules and curricula across campuses/sites and ensures alignment with the mission.
• Manages budgets, facilities and resources for the School of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education.
• Leads meetings, faculty development, and external advisory activities to support college-wide programs.
