    Job Description:

    POSITION TITLE: Dean of the Library and Learning Commons (LLC)

    DEPARTMENT: Library Learning Commons/Academic Affairs

    PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River

    REPORTS TO: Vice President for Academic Affairs

    POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Responsible for supervision of assigned unit and non-unit professional staff.

    STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

    The Dean of the Library Learning Commons (LLC) leads the Library and Learning Commons by providing vision and accountability for its services to the College. The Dean functions as a collaborative thought leader within the College's academic community to create the best possible atmosphere for learning and student success.

    Through strategic planning and assessment, budget preparation and administration, integration of appropriate technology, personnel management, and consortia development, the Dean ensures the effective functioning of the LLC. The Dean ensures shared governance, transparency, and assessment practices while helping to move the College toward comprehensive, innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of a vibrant learning community. The Dean coordinates and integrates learning support services including the library, tutoring and instructional services; directs and supervises; maintains the Library and Learning Commons environment on all Bristol campuses; plans for new or renovated facilities; and coordinates and establishes library and learning commons performance standards to provide efficient and effective learning services. The Dean anticipates future opportunities and obstacles and continually retools to meet challenges and creates an environment that encourages and recognizes creativity, innovation, and openness to new ideas, and encourages input from others. The Dean takes a leadership role in assessment and accreditation activities, in modeling and promoting evidence-based decision-making.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide strategic leadership for all functions of the Library and Learning Commons to include, but not limited to:

    Oversee the personnel in the Library and Learning Commons personnel, including, but not limited to:

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Additional Information:

    POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, non-unit position with benefits, (some nights and weekends required).

    SALARY: Hiring salary $109,642 - $128,286, commensurate with education and experience.
