Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $56,085.00 - $75,142.00 Effective as of: 08-16-2025

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY Will provide direct support to the Principal, school leadership team, and school community addressing student, staff and community issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Partner with principals, assistant principals, individual teachers, school sites, and articulation areas to implement District and/or school site initiatives, including restorative practices.
  • Utilize content expertise to effectively develop curriculum, trainings or materials and partner with teachers and administrators to implement.
  • Evaluate the performance of classified staff.
  • Respond to student behavior and conflict utilizing alternatives to punitive discipline and other content expertise.
  • Respond to staff concerns as appropriate.
  • Respond to community and parent concerns as appropriate.
  • Serve as designated administrator when so identified by the principal.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and consultation for staff members on student discipline.
  • Assist school teams in enhancing intervention frameworks.
  • Collaborate with district supports to evaluate best practices for student discipline, including restorative practices.
  • Support students and teachers inside the classroom through observation, coaching, and modeling healthy interactions and classroom management; debriefing with both teachers and individual students.
  • Monitor individual student behavior by checking in with students throughout the school day.
  • Inform families, educators, and administrators about incidents in school as needed, with the assistance of the Behavior Team.
  • Collect and analyze data related to student discipline, including but not limited to following District guidelines for documentation in Infinite Campus.
  • Organize data to inform Behavior Team of any negative and positive trends in school climate.
  • Push into classrooms and shared spaces to build relationships with students and teachers.
  • Advocate for educators and students, especially in Behavior Team meetings.
  • Establish an avenue for educators and students to express concerns about student discipline.
  • Observe staff and provide frequent, non-evaluative feedback.
  • Offer trainings to families so a common, restorative language might be used at home.
  • Teach students techniques for managing behavior and resolving conflict independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in specific content area as indicated. Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years successful classroom teaching experience in the content area, or five years of school counselor experience. Previous successful experience working with adult learners. Experience using a variety of assessment tools including best practices in the areas of classroom instruction, differentiation, assessments, and interventions. Demonstrated understanding of a K-12 perspective for designated subject area. Experience effectively facilitating teacher professional development.

CERTIFICATION: Valid Colorado teaching license or special service provider/counseling license.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT: Excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal skills. Demonstrated expertise in specific content area and best practices for all students ranging in abilities from special needs to accelerated learners. Demonstrated understanding of a response to intervention process including the use of a variety of assessments; and core, strategic and intensive strategies. Demonstrated leadership skills in the area of professional development including organizing and facilitating sessions. Knowledge and comfort with technology applications that support District curriculum. Knowledge of and experience with District’s commitment to a guaranteed and viable curriculum including current work of the content team. Knowledge of other applicable State or Federal laws may apply. Knowledge and ability to think flexibly and to adapt work to the needs the specific department. Willingness to implement national, state, and District initiatives. Knowledge of current research and issues in the area of subject area. Demonstrated ability to consult with a variety of groups and individuals. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and to meet deadlines.

SPAN OF CONTROL: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Duties require knowledge of District and school policies/procedures and applicable state/local/federal laws, facility security, child/adolescent behavior, intervention and mediation skills; and excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Position does not require additional supervision responsibilities outside the regular work day/work week, however, student discipline events and conferences with staff may extend beyond the work day in order to ensure timely conclusion of such matters.
