Overview
Fluor is seeking a Critical Facilities Manager (CFM) to join our operations team responsible for the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of a mission-critical government data center. The CFM oversees safety, risk mitigation, and operations within critical environments, ensuring all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety equipment operate efficiently. The manager acts as a technical expert reporting to the operations manager, engaging with government support personnel and third-party vendors.
Clearance Required
The Critical Facilities Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing a rotating shift of qualified operators monitoring and controlling system applications.
- Assisting in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), operator aids, and training programs for complex systems.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and regulatory codes.
- Implementing and utilizing CMMS (Maximo) for scheduling and tracking maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Collaborating with the Operations Manager to optimize system performance and energy goals.
- Supervising shift activities and maintaining detailed shift logs.
- Managing plant and substation configurations and responding to alarm conditions.
- Providing reports on facility-impacting events and ensuring follow-up actions.
- Communicating with the client during shutdowns or degraded conditions.
- Managing scheduled outages and coordinating impacts with the client.
- Briefing management on facility issues, weather, and world events affecting operations.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Job Requirements
- This position is sensitive and may require extensive background screening.
- Availability for shift work, overtime, and 24/7 coverage.
- High school diploma or GED with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in critical environments and 10 years of supervisory experience in O&M of large, complex buildings.
- Strong electrical and HVAC background.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, work orders, and safety documents.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance and timekeeping systems.
- Capability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and with equipment over six feet tall.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Compliance with licensing, certification, and company policies.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
