Overview

Dean | Fluor is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician (CFT - GMT) responsible for maintaining the condition and functionality of a 24/7/365 critical government facility.

Responsibilities

The CFT performs diverse duties including troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining facility equipment across various trades such as HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and low voltage electrical, as well as fuel systems. Routine inspections and maintenance are essential to prevent facility and equipment breakdowns.

  1. Conduct routine rounds monitoring facility equipment and recording parameters.
  2. Report faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences; respond to emergencies to ensure safety.
  3. Perform minor plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  4. Maintain facility support equipment like air compressors, electronic locks, pumps, etc.
  5. Reconfigure and install modular office furniture and spaces.
  6. Inspect structures for malfunctions and recommend repairs.
  7. Accurately record maintenance activities and equipment conditions in a computerized system.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned, including fuel system management, shipping, and inventory tasks.
Qualifications
  • Availability 24/7/365, including on-call during winter months.
  • High School diploma or GED with at least four years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read work orders, manuals, and safety documents.
  • Proficiency in data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and on ladders.
  • Must carry a two-way radio and have reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Compliance with licensing, certifications, and company policies.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 60 lbs, walk up to 3 miles, and stand for long periods.
Desire
  • Welding, soldering large copper pipes, diesel engine mechanics, and water treatment experience are preferred.
Abilities
  • Lift over 100 lbs, work at heights up to 60 feet, and climb various ladders and scaffolds.
  • Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, crawling, and reaching.
  • Good vision (corrected if needed), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English.
  • Recognize problems and apply general rules to solve or understand issues.
