Job description

Overview

Dean|Fluor is seeking a skilled, licensed Commercial Journeyman Electrical Maintenance Technician with extensive experience in commercial and industrial electrical systems, working with low to high voltage systems. The technician will collaborate with TTO project managers to complete various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Install conduit, electrical equipment, and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings.
  2. Test and troubleshoot all installed equipment and wiring using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, megger, phase rotation meters, etc.
  3. Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation of electrical systems.
  4. Work with low, medium, and high voltage systems.
  5. Support electrical infrastructure installations.
  6. Safely utilize power tools and maintain a clean work environment.
  7. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals.
  8. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70 NEC, and local codes.
  9. Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools.
  10. Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure personal and team safety.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical instructions, plans, and schematic diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 NEC standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective scheduling skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Compliance with all city, state, and federal licensing and certification requirements.
Additional Information
  • Lifting and physical exertion are required for this position.
  • Required to perform other assignments as needed.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years as a Commercial Journeyman Electrical Maintenance Technician in a commercial/industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with electrical installation and repair tasks.
  • Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using various power tools and electrical equipment.
  • Experience in working with conduit installations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or GED and an Electrical Journeyman license.
  • Must be capable of achieving and maintaining a security clearance.
  • Ability to lift and work with equipment over six feet and work in confined spaces.
Qualifications

ABILITIES:

  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
  • Performs routine and repetitive physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
  • Recognizes when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing it.
  • Applies general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers.
  • Combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
  • Sees details at close range (within a few feet).
  • Listens to and understands spoken information and ideas.
