Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the financial and accounting system and personnel
2. Manage daily operations of the accounting department, cashiers, and receipts
3. Reconcile the bank accounts for the dealership on a daily basis
4. Complete all required reports for the corporate office on a regular basis
5. Prepare monthly financial statements
6. Process all insurance claims and liability insurance
7. Review all financial statements and ledgers, and work with the accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies
8. Prepare all taxes and filing forms with the government
9. Ensure all human resources and payroll functions are operational, and handle employee issues as needed
10. Ensure required HR training is completed
11. Cross-train in all accounting positions

Requirements:

1. 2+ years of previous automotive controller experience required
2. Previous automotive dealership experience required
3. Strong communications, customer service, leadership, and organizational skills
4. Excellent analytical ability
5. High school diploma is necessary; college or advanced degree preferred
6. Proficiency with payroll software, Reynolds & Reynolds, and Microsoft Office applications or the equivalent
7. Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
