Job summary

Timbrook Automotive, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team in Cumberland, MD. The role supports vehicle deal processing, payable/receivable activities, funding, reconciliations, deposits, and general accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Automotive dealership accounting experience is strongly preferred, with opportunity for growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or office experience preferred.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of dealership accounting processes is a plus.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, or general ledger functions preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to learn and utilize dealership accounting and DMS software.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Professional, dependable, and positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and post vehicle sales and finance deals accurately and timely.
• Review vehicle deal jackets and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with funding of vehicle deals and follow up on outstanding funding.
• Post and reconcile vehicle inventory and related transactions.
• Process accounts payable invoices and assist with vendor payments.
• Process accounts receivable transactions and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare and post daily deposits.
• Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records for vehicle inventory, receivables, payables, and other dealership accounts.
• Assist with floorplan accounting and reconciliation.
• Process and reconcile manufacturer statements and related accounting entries.
• Assist with warranty receivables and manufacturer reimbursements.
• Review and reconcile service, parts, and other dealership accounting transactions.
• Assist with posting and reconciling manufacturer incentives, rebates, and other receivables.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare supporting documentation.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and posting errors
• Maintain organized accounting records and files
• Communicate with dealership departments, manufacturers, lenders, vendors, and customers as needed
• Assist with audits and provide requested documentation
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information
• Follow dealership accounting procedures, internal controls, and company policies
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
