Holman is seeking a Dealership Accountant I to join our Raleigh/Cary, NC team, expanding accounting capacity and partnering with operations to support dealership performance and financial accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accounting coursework preferred.
• Foundational understanding of debits/credits and general ledger activity.
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow established processes and deadlines.
• Ability to use standard office applications and accounting systems to enter, review, and organize information accurately.
• Early-career accounting professional with 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Understanding of general ledger activity, reconciliations, controls, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to independently manage assigned accounting responsibilities and escalate issues.

Responsibilities

• Process routine dealership transactions including cash receipts and postings.
• Gather and maintain support for reconciliations and accounting activity.
• Perform deal review, posting support, and follow-up on questions or missing documentation.
• Post wholesale activity, vehicle purchases, and inventory transactions per defined processes.
• Process refunds, check requests, and workflow items accurately and timely.
• Respond to routine inquiries from dealership teams and provide backup support across accounting functions.
• Apply foundational accounting principles to determine transaction treatment and documentation requirements.
• Develop understanding of how dealership transactions impact financial statements and account balances.
• Prepare assigned schedules and reconciliations with appropriate support and investigate variances.
• Own foundational dealership accounting activities, reconciliations, and month-end support.
• Escalate issues that could impact financial reporting, reconciliation integrity, or close readiness.
• Perform all other duties as required.
