Blackstone Credit manages approximately $450 billion of loan and bond assets. As a Product Owner in Credit Technology, you will be a part of a collaborative team that continues to build tools for our partners in Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI) to help scale the business and achieve firmwide goals. You will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing solutions and processes to enhance user efficiency and improve business process using technology throughout a deal’s lifecycle. Your primary responsibility will include working with front, middle and back-office professionals across BXCI to ensure the scalability of our deal platform, capture key attributes of a deal that is necessary for reporting, legal/compliance, client relationship management, and any downstream dependencies and centralize our deal lifecycle processes. The platform you will be managing integrates with several internal and external systems, requiring multi-application understanding for efficient technical implementation. Besides working with the Tech Lead and the scrum teams, you will also work with various business stakeholders, including but not limited to, Portfolio Managers, Deal Teams, Operations, Data Governance, and other middle-office professionals, business management, and legal and compliance users.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing a vision and defining a future landscape for the Product(s)
  • Building a roadmap to achieve the vision and socializing it with senior stakeholders
  • Writing user stories and epics to build out and groom the backlog, prioritize the backlog, and define releases
  • Maintaining product for downstream applications while building new integrations with vendors
  • Driving implementation of new features and enhancements
  • Documenting user requests and feedback
  • Coordinating and triaging production support issues
  • Writing end user release notes for upcoming releases
  • Training new team members as they are onboarded
  • Facilitating demos with stakeholders
  • Building relationships with end users so you become their trusted advisor
  • Developing strong vendor relations
  • Promoting user adoption by writing detailed documentation
  • Organizing training material and communications
  • Engage proactively with users across the firm to identify pain points, facilitating brainstorming sessions to develop innovative solutions
  • Being accessible to the developers for them to ask questions and better understand what they are coding

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • 5 + years of experience in product management
  • User-focused – You dig deep to understand user needs. You have experience conducting thorough research to understand user motivations and workflow and can clearly communicate them using appropriate methods (ex: user flows, personas, etc.)
  • Data-driven – You use data and user research to help drive decisions in areas like design and prioritization
  • Decisive – You can lead and manage projects with minimal oversight and make independent decisions, but know when to reach out when guidance or additional feedback is needed
  • Detail-oriented – You have experience recording detailed requirements or design documents and are comfortable documenting end-to-end functional and technical reporting and data needs
  • Adaptable – You want to work in a dynamic environment requiring you to flex between analytical, strategic, and operational aspects of the job. Regardless of the need, you’re happy to roll up your sleeves to get any job done
  • Independent – You can work effectively as an individual contributor and possess strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Strong Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills – You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You know how to drive consensus among stakeholders, manage expectations, and keep strong relationships
  • Experienced with Agile Processes – You have worked in Agile environments and know how to break down key features into appropriate user stories. You have experience working closely with engineers through the software development lifecycle
  • Product Management Experience – Proven success in managing products or similar deal platforms, including roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and user adoption strategies

Preferred Experience:

  • Asset Management industry experience

Expected annual base salary range: $125,000 - $200,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
