Job summary

The Hamilton County Educational Service Center is seeking a part-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a long-term substitute position. The role requires daily travel to various locations to identify and support students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

You will develop and monitor IEPs, provide direct services, and collaborate with audiologists and educational teams to implement hearing accommodations and related services.

Qualifications

• A degree in deaf education from an accredited college or institution.
• Ohio Department of Education Certification/Licensure.
• Willingness to travel daily to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide screening, diagnostic assessments, and interventions for students aged 3–21 with suspected hearing loss.
• Interpret hearing/listening assessment results and advise educational teams on accommodations and HAT.
• Collaborate with audiologists on amplification use, listening skills, and speech reading.
• Develop, implement, manage, and monitor IEPs for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Participate in professional development and adhere to HCESC policies and deadlines.
