Job summary

Primary Talent Partners is seeking a DCS Start-Up Engineer SME for a 12-month contract in Charlotte, NC. You will lead field start-up activities, perform hardware checks, and coordinate with vendors, EPCs, and operations to ensure smooth commissioning of a major generation project.

The role requires strong DCS knowledge, field engineering experience, and the ability to work in active construction environments with hybrid onsite support. Travel and site assignments are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in control systems or related projects.
• Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems, hardware, software, networks.
• Ability to work in active construction and commissioning environments.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support DCS field start-up activities and hardware checks.
• Coordinate with vendors, EPCs, construction, and operations to plan commissioning.
• Configure control systems, validate graphics, alarms, and interfaces.
• Support factory/site acceptance testing and punch list resolution.
• Maintain start-up docs, test records, and turnover packages.
