Job summary

Switch is hiring a DCO Facilities Supervisor to lead a team of Facilities Technicians in a 24/7/365 data-center environment. You will supervise daily maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical systems and drive safety, uptime, and compliance.

You’ll coordinate maintenance activities, manage vendor relations, and contribute to procedures, budgets, and training. Bachelor’s in engineering preferred but practical experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in facilities or data center environments with electrical/mechanical focus.
• Experience supervising technician teams and coordinating maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs/RPPs, cooling and fire suppression.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Facilities Technicians and provide daily direction and feedback.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain uptime.
• Support on-call or bridge response during escalations.
• Manage vendor and contractor activities per safety/quality standards.
• Track maintenance, requisitions, and asset health in CMMS/building systems.
• Contribute to safety documentation, SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate client access and special maintenance with minimal operational impact.
• Assist with budget planning and requisition reviews.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of Technicians.
• Represent DCO Facilities in operational meetings.

The Role: DCO Facilities Supervisor

This role supports the DCO Facilities Manager by supervising daily maintenance and operations of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems. You lead a team of Facilities Technicians, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure safety, compliance, and uptime standards are consistently met. The role combines hands‑on technical knowledge with frontline people leadership in a 24/7/365 environment.

What You’ll Do

Supervise Facilities Technicians and provide daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback.

Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maintain critical systems uptime.

Participate in escalated facility events and support on‑call or bridge response activities as assigned.

Manage vendor and contractor activities to ensure compliance with Switch safety and quality standards.

Track maintenance activities, requisitions, and asset health within CMMS and building management systems.

Participate in Change Advisory Board processes, including ticket creation and maintenance window coordination.

Review and support development of maintenance procedures, MOPs, SOPs, and safety documentation.

Coordinate client access and special maintenance requirements to ensure minimal operational impact.

Assist with budget planning and purchase requisition reviews.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of Facilities Technicians.

Represent DCO Facilities in operational meetings and cross‑functional discussions.

What We’re Looking For

Demonstrated frontline leadership in facilities or mission‑critical environments.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety and compliance.

Clear communication with technicians, vendors, customers, and leadership.

Sound judgment during operational and maintenance activities.

What You’ll Bring

5 or more years of experience in facilities, electrical, or mechanical systems in an industrial or data center environment.

Experience supervising or leading technician teams.

Advanced understanding of systems including generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, ATS or STS units, PDUs or RPPs, cooling systems, and fire suppression systems.

Experience working within CMMS, asset management, and building management platforms.

Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
