Job summary

HD Supply invites applications for a data analytics professional focused on supply planning, execution, and reporting across distribution center operations. You will analyze inventory, forecasting, and KPI data to support improvements and cost savings for the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Certification is required in some areas.

• Performs data management through mining and analysis for area of responsibility.
• Executes day-to-day inventory analytics including fulfillment and forecasting.
• Designs and develops metrics, dashboards, and reports to measure performance and drive efficiencies.
• Validates and publishes reporting to enable cross-functional insights.
• Provides support to develop additional databases and reports and identify improvement opportunities.
• Documents business requirements, functional and system designs, processes, and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties and ad-hoc tasks.

Job Summary

Responsible for using a variety of methods and tools to contribute to the implementation and control of new or updated supply planning process, execution, and reporting systems. Provide timely, consistent, relevant, and actionable data analyses in support of key supply chain initiatives. Support multiple short and long-term projects.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

• Performs data management through mining and analysis while executing day-to-day processes related to area of responsibility.
• Executes “day-to-day” inventory analytics with respect to fulfillment, replenishment, inventory on hand, transfer activity, aged inventory reduction, forecasting, and forecast accuracy.
• Collaborates in the design and development of metrics, dashboards and reports for areas that measure performance and drive efficiencies and cost savings opportunities.
• Validates, and publishes reporting to drive cross-functional business insights.
• Provides support and tool or subject matter expertise to develop additional databases / reports. Maintains and identifies improvement opportunities of various business tools and solutions.
• Documents business requirements, functional and system design, processes, and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Nature and Scope

• Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
• Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
• May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education And Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
