Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer in Washington, DC to protect people and property at client sites. You will monitor posts, perform patrols, manage access, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

Position requires a DC security officer license, ability to pass background checks and drug screening, and strong customer service skills. Shifts may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current District of Columbia security officer license/registration.
• Must meet all applicable DC licensing and training requirements for the assigned position.
• Must be able to successfully complete required criminal background screening.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
• Must be able to complete any required medical screening or physical examination.
• Must be able to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods, including shifts of up to 12 hours when required.
• Ability to operate security equipment such as metal detectors, CCTV, access control systems, radios.
• Must maintain a neat, professional appearance and properly maintained uniform.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Must be dependable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard employees, clients, visitors, contractors, and the public and protect client property at assigned locations across Washington, DC.
• Monitor posts, entrances, exits, and surrounding areas to prevent unauthorized access and security incidents.
• Conduct regular patrols and report suspicious activity or hazards promptly.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems as required.
• Verify identifications and visitor authorization to control access.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents following procedures.
• Coordinate with MPD, DC Fire and EMS, FPS, or other agencies when needed.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain a professional security presence and provide customer service to all.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and emergency personnel.
