Job summary

U Street Parking, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer in Washington, DC. This full-time role requires DC licensure, ability to pass background and drug checks, and a willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts.

You will monitor posts, control access, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed. Responsibilities include patrolling, reporting, operating CCTV and alarms, providing customer service, and maintaining professional appearance throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current District of Columbia security officer license/registration, when required.
• Must meet all applicable DC licensing and training requirements for the position.
• Must pass criminal background screening and drug screening.
• Must complete any required medical screening or physical examination.
• Able to stand, walk, patrol and stay alert for extended periods, including up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to operate CCTV, access control, alarms and other security equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard people and property with professional security at assigned locations in Washington, DC.
• Monitor posts and prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism and safety concerns.
• Conduct patrols and report incidents, emergencies and safety hazards.
• Operate CCTV, alarms and access control as required.
• Control access by verifying IDs and credentials.
• Prepare incident and activity reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain a professional security presence and deliver customer service.
• Coordinate with MPD, FPS, FC and other agencies when appropriate.
• Maintain proper uniform and appearance and ensure equipment is serviceable.
