Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Receiving Associate to unload shipments, verify accuracy, and move items to the correct locations in the distribution center. The role involves documenting incoming shipments, handling carrier deliveries, and supporting returns and cross-docking processes.

Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of experience, and be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Forklift certification and RADS gun operation are required.

Qualifications

• 6 months prior work experience.
• Working knowledge of the stockroom.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to communicate with customers, supervisors, and Will Call employees.
• Willingness and initiative to learn.
• Analytical problem solving skills.
• Ability to work to flexible hours, including weekends/holidays as needed.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Strong customer relationship skills.
• Ability to operate a RADS gun.
• Forklift operator certification required.
• Visually capable of recognizing letters and numbers.
• Able to stand and walk for entire shift.
• Able to lift/move parts and boxes up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Unload shipments and verify accuracy, transporting items to proper stockroom locations.
• Record all incoming shipments on the receiving log.
• Distribute and sort shipments and handle deliveries by carriers; arrange next-day air when required.
• Handle Pro Point repair and returns.
• Ship W.O.G. and cross docks to jobbers.
• Assist in unloading returned merchandise and verify counts; move to check-in areas.
• Perform other management-assigned duties.
