The ideal candidate holds a JD from a top-tier law school, is admitted to the DC Bar, and has 1–3 years of experience in privacy or data protection, with strong research, drafting, and client-facing

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
• Active DC Bar admission or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar
• 1-3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience
• Experience advising clients on privacy compliance and regulatory matters
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations
• Exposure to international privacy laws preferred
• Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills
• Excellent written communication for client-facing advice
• Comparable law firm experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

Location: Washington, DC

Our client, an international Amlaw 50 firm, is seeking a Talented Privacy Associate to join its highly regarded Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice Group in Washington, D.C. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance matters, advising clients on complex legal and business challenges arising from evolving data protection laws and emerging technologies.

Candidate Profile

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC (or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar), in good standing
• 1-3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience
• Experience advising clients on privacy compliance, data protection, and related regulatory matters
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations, including state privacy frameworks and federal requirements
• Exposure to international privacy and data protection laws, including cross-border compliance considerations, is preferred
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
• Exceptional written communication abilities with experience preparing client-facing advice and regulatory analyses
• Comparable law firm experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $225,000-$260,000 annually, as determined by experience and market factors
