Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active DC Bar admission (or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar) in good standing.
• 1–3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience.
• Experience advising on privacy compliance, data protection, and regulatory matters.
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations; cross-border exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on privacy compliance, data governance, and data protection requirements across industries.
• Assist with regulatory compliance involving U.S. and international privacy frameworks.
• Conduct privacy and cybersecurity due diligence for corporate and transactional matters.
• Draft, review, and update privacy policies, data processing agreements, and related documents.
• Support cybersecurity preparedness, incident response, investigations, and risk-management initiatives.
• Monitor developments and provide guidance on emerging privacy and cybersecurity requirements.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas on complex regulatory, transactional, and advisory matters.

Our client, an international Amlaw 50 firm, is seeking a Talented Privacy Associate to join its highly regarded Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice Group in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance matters, advising clients on complex legal and business challenges arising from evolving data protection laws and emerging technologies.

Candidate Profile

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC (or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar), in good standing
• 1-3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience
• Experience advising clients on privacy compliance, data protection, and related regulatory matters
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations, including state privacy frameworks and federal requirements
• Exposure to international privacy and data protection laws, including cross-border compliance considerations, is preferred
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
• Exceptional written communication abilities with experience preparing client-facing advice and regulatory analyses
• Comparable law firm experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $225,000-$260,000 annually, as determined by experience and market factors
