Job Summary
An AllCom Global Services Project involves the installation, testing, and commissioning of various subsystems. We seek a highly experienced installation technician with a strong understanding of system design, industry standards, installation methods, and extensive knowledge of data enterprise and telecommunication environments. This position requires 100% travel and a DoD Security clearance.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Install and maintain DC and AC Power Systems, including secondary distribution, rectifiers, and power boards (Vertiv, Benning).
- Work with inverter plants and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
- Implement grounding installation standards and requirements.
- Set up inside plant infrastructure, including cabling, racking, and power systems.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare for installation; handle transport equipment installation and commissioning.
- Install data and voice switches, ensuring adherence to installation requirements.
- Write detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) and Scope of Work (SOW) documents.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of industry standards supporting data and telecommunication environments.
- Perform system acceptance testing (SAT).
- Install, commission, and test -48V VRLA battery systems from manufacturers like EnerSys, GNB, and C&D.
- Install, hot-cut, commission, and test DC power boards with alarm notifications from manufacturers like Emerson/Liebert, Benning, Lucent, and Alpha Technologies.
- Install, hot-cut, commission, and test inverter systems, including alarm notifications from manufacturers like Benning, Peco II, CE+T, and Alpha Technologies.
- Apply proper lacing techniques for cable management.

Job knowledge and skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Use of laptops for testing, configuration, and commissioning.
- Basic hand tools and crimpers for power circuit installation.
- Testing equipment for fiber, copper, and power systems; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to interpret engineered drawing packages.
- Strong leadership skills to supervise installation teams.
- Conflict resolution skills between engineering design and site conditions.
- Provide technical support and expertise to customers and engineering teams.
- Enforce safety requirements at all sites.
- Willingness to travel out of town 100% of the time.
- Must hold an active Department of Defense Security Clearance.
Education, certification, and experience
- Ability to secure and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
- Pass pre-employment drug and background tests; possess a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in data and telecommunication installation.
- Documented experience as a DC Power installer.
