Alamon, Inc. is seeking a DC Power Technician Level 1 for its Network Services department.

The role involves learning and assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of DC power systems across diverse environments, with extensive travel and outdoor work. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel locally or regionally.

Qualifications

  • Must pass the pre-employment screening (background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull).
  • Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment and all-weather conditions, lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Possess a current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to successfully complete job tasks and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist in the installation of DC power systems including batteries, rectifiers, inverters, running cables, connecting equipment, and grounding.
  • Learn and perform routine maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting of DC power systems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation on work performed, equipment, inventories, service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and governmental regulations.
  • Participate in training sessions to acquire new skills related to DC Power Systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Alamon, Inc. seeks a DC Power Technician Level 1 for its Network Services department.

This position entails: learning and assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of direct current (DC power systems). The DC Power Technician Level 1 will gain experience and develop the necessary skills to support the operations of DC Power infrastructure. This position requires extensive travel.

Job Description:

  • Learn and assist in the installation of DC power systems including batteries, rectifiers, inverters, running cables, connecting equipment, and ensuring proper grounding.
  • Learn how to perform routine maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting issues pertaining to DC power systems.
  • Maintain specific detailed documentation on work performed, equipment, inventories, service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines set forth by the company and through governmental regulations.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to acquire new skills and knowledge related to DC Power Systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
  • Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
  • Possess a current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
  • Must have reliable transportation and auto insurance.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.


Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a range of environments, including enterprise, educational, warehouse, and manufacturing settings.
  • Indoor and outdoor work will vary based on project scope.
  • Potential exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, varying noise levels, and wet or slick surfaces.
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with company standards and governmental regulations is required.
  • The position may require working outdoors for long periods in various weather conditions and terrains.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work at heights.
  • Be able to work in tight spaces and stairwells.
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at a time.
  • Must be able to ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time to travel to and from job sites.
  • Ability to work in different temperatures and through changing weather conditions.
  • Must be able to traverse all areas of the Jobsite. This may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Ability to clearly distinguish colors, shades, and brightness when working with multi-colored cablings such as twisted pair copper and fiber optic cable.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and use practical judgment while working through job assignments.


Travel Requirements:

  • This position will require extensive travel.
  • Lodging is covered by the company when traveling and staying overnight for work.


Education and Experience:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Vision.
  • Strong use of interpersonal skills, creativity, and communication skills.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to successfully complete job tasks while accepting full responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle, equipment, and tools.
  • A professional attitude that will positively represent the Alamon organization to clients and the communities in which they work.
  • Have the willingness and desire to learn and grow in a new field.
  • Have a strong attention to detail, follow procedures accurately and possess the ability to multitask.
