Job summary

Winston Taylor LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join its intellectual property practice in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have at least three years in biotechnology litigation, a life sciences degree, and strong research and writing skills.

Prior Hatch-Waxman, biosimilar, or competitor pharma case experience is highly valued. Admitted to the bar in the candidate's preferred office location.

Qualifications

• At least three years of prior work experience in a biotechnology practice.
• Degree in a life sciences technology area (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biomedical sciences, chemical engineering, molecular biology, pharmacy or equivalent).
• Strong research, writing, and analytic skills; ability to mentor junior associates and work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle and, preferably, manage Hatch-Waxman, biosimilar or competitor pharmaceutical cases in district court or PTAB.
• Demonstrate independent thinking and assume increasing responsibility in a litigation practice.
• Maintain strong academic credentials and contribute to the firm’s intellectual property practice.

Job description

Winston Taylor LLP is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, and highly qualified mid-level associate to join its intellectual property practice. Qualified applicants for this position must have at least three years of prior work experience in a biotechnology practice, along with a degree in a life sciences technology area (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biomedical science, chemical engineering, molecular biology, pharmacy, or the like). We are seeking individuals who are independent thinkers and have the capacity to assume increasing responsibility in a highly successful litigation practice. Candidates must possess strong research, writing, and analytic skills; the ability to manage and mentor more junior associates; strong management and organizational skills; an ability to work independently and creatively; and an ability to work successfully as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have prior work experience handling and preferably managing Hatch-Waxman, biosimilar, or competitor pharmaceutical cases in district court or before the PTAB.

Candidates must have strong academic credentials from an accredited law school. While Washington, DC is our preferred office location for this position, candidates for our other U.S. offices will be considered. All candidates must be admitted to the state bar of their preferred office location.
