Job Description

Ensures all facilities and grounds are maintained to promote maximum productivity of distribution center operations. Responsible for high-level repairs in disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, etc. May have supervisory responsibility for maintenance staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage daily maintenance and repair issues for all facilities and grounds systems, including structural components, electrical work, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, painting, welding, parking lot maintenance, etc.
  • Ensure ongoing preventative maintenance for all systems, including HVAC, electrical, lighting, roofing, generators, parking lots, fans, restrooms, and plumbing.
  • Monitor repair and maintenance activities to optimize resource use, including manpower, equipment, supplies, and hardware/software.
  • Recommend cost-saving and innovative ideas for better facility and grounds usage.
  • Handle procurement of maintenance supplies and equipment, including tracking purchase orders, receivables, and invoicing.
  • Supervise contracted work following standard bidding processes and management review.
  • Oversee onsite construction projects, remodels, and new builds.
  • Construct distribution center equipment such as carts, mailboxes, and tote hooks.
  • Collaborate with management and Safety Manager to ensure OSHA and other regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate maintenance issues and projects to distribution center management.
  • Provide after-hours emergency assistance, including snow removal assessments.
  • Train team members with relevant experience, ensuring training schedules and documentation are maintained.
  • Maintain safety standards, identify unsafe practices, and promote a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Experience

Required:

  • 4-5 years of management or high-responsibility experience in facilities

  • Certification or journeyman status in trades
  • College or technical degree in Facilities Management, Maintenance, Construction, or related fields
  • Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly preferred
