Job summary

General Dynamics in Washington, DC seeks an Intern in Government Relations to gain exposure to the federal legislative process and the defense sector. The role includes researching budget requests, congressional bills, and report language, plus assisting with PAC administration and event support at our DC facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Ohio State University within the WAIP.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.
• Desire to learn about defense and aerospace industry.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Must be willing to work in the office Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Government Relations team on a daily basis with various ad-hoc projects.
• Monitor congressional meetings and hearings as appropriate.
• Perform research for the department using news services such as Politico, as well as reading and understanding the Presidents Budget request, Congressional bills, and report language.
• Work directly with the Government Relations staff on all General Dynamics hosted political events held at our two Washington, DC facilities.
• Collaborate with lobbyists and staff regarding
