Job summary

Target's Detroit Distribution Center is seeking a Facility Attendant (Utility Attendant) to support the front-line maintenance and upkeep of the site. You will assist with light mechanical work, battery handling, and equipment servicing to help keep operations running smoothly.

We value safe lifting, teamwork, and proactive care of tools and spaces. The role includes on-site duties, daily log updates, and adherence to safety protocols while supporting a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license.
• Able to work independently and/or in a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Certification to operate power equipment preferred.
• Experience using maintenance tools (saws, drills, etc.).
• Ability to read labels, tickets, and instructions.
• Capable of lifting 47 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor maintenance tasks and general upkeep in the distribution center.
• Assist maintenance staff with equipment servicing and repair of hand tools and small machines.
• Install/remove equipment as needed and maintain battery charging areas and records.
• Do light carpentry (racking, shelving) and minor plumbing work.
• Keep area clean, log work orders, and support preventive maintenance programs.
