Job summary

FCP, a Federated Hermes, Inc. subsidiary, offers an 8-week Real Estate Intern program based in the Washington, D.C. office. Interns rotate across acquisitions, asset management, capital markets, investor relations, and risk management.

The internship develops analytical and financial modeling skills; company housing is not provided, but interns may receive assistance. Travel for site visits and market tours may be required.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate student expected to graduate in 2028 (rising senior).
• Pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, operating budgets, rent rolls, and capex budgets to evaluate property and portfolio performance.
• Research and analyze economic, demographic and real estate market data.
• Conduct property site inspections and market tours; some travel may be required.
• Develop financial models and analysis, including cash flow projections and investment return calculations.
• Prepare investment memos for presentations to senior acquisitions and/or asset management personnel.
• Coordinate and manage due diligence review and closing process.
• Assist with arranging and closing debt financing.
• Present property performance to colleagues and leadership across the firm.
