Qualifications

• Internship or 1 year of relevant experience in strategic communications.
• Strong interest in public policy issues related to internet and technology.
• Excellent writing skills and familiarity with digital platforms.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of advocacy campaigns and assist with client communication.
• Develop a foundational understanding of the policy landscape and client industries.
• Build introductory relationships with media contacts in national, political, technology and trade outlets across various platforms (print, broadcast, online).
• Assist in drafting client communications materials such as press releases, fact sheets and web content.
• Monitor Congressional hearings and other advocacy events and provide comprehensive analysis for clients.
• Learn to use industry-standard tools for client service, including data and analytics, social media monitoring and industry research.
• Help implement processes for tracking and basic analysis of media coverage (print, broadcast and online).
• Support the team and help to plan client events.
• Be a leader and brand ambassador inside and outside Glen Echo Group.
