Role Overview

The Building Inspector ensures buildings comply with state codes through plan reviews, inspections, and regulation enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct testing, observations, and site assessments following established procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and analyze data, such as soil and concrete tests.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Observe site activities and document findings meticulously.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Adhere to safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in construction materials testing or inspection.
• BN (Building Inspector) License from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Regional certifications (e.g., ACI/ICC/FDOT) are preferred.
• Proficiency in math, computer use, and reading work plans.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, occasionally over 50 with assistance.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certifications from ACI, ICC, or FDOT.
