Job summary

enGen is seeking a DB2 Database Administrator to design, manage, and optimize enterprise databases. This role focuses on high availability, security, and peak performance of core DB2 systems supporting critical healthcare operations.

The specialist will collaborate with development teams, participate in change control, and contribute to automation and continuous improvement while maintaining governance and audit controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in IT or information systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support DB2 databases across production and test environments.
• Design, create, modify, and maintain core database objects (tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, packages, plans).
• Monitor and tune database and SQL performance to optimize application response times.
• Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management, including on-call rotations.
• Develop automation scripts and runbooks to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
