Job summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Server Assistant to support our dining team. You will help ensure guests have a smooth dining experience, assist servers, and maintain clean service areas with attention to detail.

As a critical link between kitchen and dining room, you will help deliver dishes timely, manage side work, and greet guests with a positive, team-focused attitude. This role offers competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of restaurant or similar experience.
• Must have Sunday morning and Weekday lunchtime availability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees and guests.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they are seated and respond to guest requests.
• Assist in service station and maintain clean areas.
• Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure correct plating.

THE ROLE

Server Assistants & Food Runners are the saving grace of support staff and have an eye for the where assistance is needed. While ensuring each guest has water in their glass, you will also be there to save the day for the full-handed server in need. You have an eye for detail and work to ensure the guests food has a smooth transition between the kitchen and their table. As a food runner, you will ensure every dish that is sent out is divine to present and devour.

What we will ask of you:

• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment and maintain clean service areas throughout shift
• Greet guests as they are seated and respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate to server as needed
• Between seating’s, take soiled table ware to dish room and sort to designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area then clean and reset tabletops
• Act as the liaison between the kitchen and dining room staff; in a fast paced, stressful, high demand environment and ensures all food items are delivered in a timely fashion
• Receive and relay orders to the kitchen staff according to the ticket specifications and ensure all dishes match up on every plate, acting as the last set of eyes to review all outgoing plates
• Works in a clean and organized station and adhere to all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation

Requirements for Success:

• Must have Sunday morning and Weekday lunchtime availability
• At least one year of restaurant or similar experience preferred
• Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and all guests
• A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting
