Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Prep Cook/Cashier to join our school food service program at the Wabasha-Kellogg School District. In this role you’ll prep simple menu items, serve students, and keep the kitchen clean and organized to help meal service run smoothly.

This on-site daytime position offers Monday–Friday schedule, light to moderate physical work, and opportunities to learn HACCP practices, cash handling, and POS operations while supporting a positive dining

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and convert quantities for large batches.
• Dependability, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Basic computer skills and comfort using a POS system.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items by following recipes while ensuring meals are ready for serving times and supporting special diets and events.
• Help keep the kitchen clean and organized, including storage areas, using FIFO practices, and complete HACCP logs and daily production records.
• Maintain food safety and compliance, follow food-safety steps, complete basic logs, assist with production records and maintain a safe workspace.
• Communicate supply needs, customer feedback, and updates to your team and supervisors.
• Stock and serve items during meal service and help with prep lists and freezer pulls.
• Jump in where needed from helping teammates, training new team members and assisting when someone is out.
• Operate the Point-of-Sale system to process student transactions and manage account balances.
• Follow cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions.
• Help create a friendly, welcoming environment for students and staff while providing excellent customer service.
