NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is seeking a detail-oriented Day Custodian in Austin to maintain cleanliness in classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas. This role supports school events and may include weekend overtime to keep a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children and adults.
• Custodial/janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning supplies and hand tools.
• Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors.
• Friendly demeanor and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and common areas.
• Spot mop floors and place caution signs.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Sweep outside common areas.
• Wipe down window glass and elevator surfaces.
• Dust fixtures, counters, surfaces.
• Empty trash.
• Replace lightbulbs; report facility issues.
• Work with a joyful smile and willingness to help our school!
