Job summary

Central York School District is seeking a dedicated part-time 1st shift custodian at Central York High School to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work closely with the custodial team to ensure facilities are well cared for.

This daytime role covers 4.0 hours per day across 186 days per year, with duties spanning classrooms, corridors, restrooms, libraries, cafeterias, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have and maintain a valid PA driver's license.
• Must have 1 to 3 years of custodial work experience.
• Must have (or willing to obtain) PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties around school buildings, including areas listed in the job summary.
• Dusts, empties trash, sweeps, vacuums, mops floors, and sanitizes fixtures.
• Cleans classrooms, empties trash, cleans chalkboards and whiteboards, dusts computers, cleans windows and blinds.
• Cleans restrooms and locker rooms, replaces paper and soap products, cleans mirrors and sinks.
• Responds to calls from office for deliveries and other supply or equipment needed assistance.
• Cleans lockers, chairs and other school equipment and furniture as needed.
• Picks up litter around school grounds and may assist in snow removal and sidewalk cleaning.
• May secure the building, lock/unlock doors or gates, and may lift or rearrange furniture.
• Change light bulbs and filters, perform minor maintenance and report malfunctions.
• May assist in completing workload in the absence of other custodians; may work in summer projects.
