Founded in 1980 as a private, not‑for‑profit organization, the Conservancy has overseen the investment of over $1.6billion in the restoration of the park, now hosting over 40million visitors a year. With an annual operating budget of $120million and roughly 400 employees, the Conservancy is responsible for landscape maintenance, capital improvements, and the visitor experience.
Reports to: Manager, Park Maintenance Department.
Schedule: Full‑time, 40hours per week (typically 6:00am – 2:30pm). Weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
The Daytime Park Maintainer I or II is responsible for the day‑to‑day cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of Central Park. The role focuses on detailed maintenance and cleaning operations across hard surfaces, pathways, playgrounds, and transverse roads, working within assigned park locations and with other staff in an outdoor urban park setting.
Park Maintainer I: $43,500–$47,400 annually (commensurate with experience).
Park Maintainer II: $44,500–$52,500 annually (commensurate with experience).
